The idea of manufacturing such substrates is the possibility of research and application of nanomaterials and composites that have poor electrical conductivity, but due to the small distance between contacts, it is sufficient for existing laboratory devices. Commercially available analogues, in particular for fabrication of organic field effect transistors (OFETs), are very expensive and have a fixed design and geometric dimensions. The own fabrication gives the flexibility of the design for every type of samples and tasks, which is important both for own research and for the performing the B.s. and M.s. student works (this contributes to the educational component to project results).
Currently we have mastered the technology of fabricating IDMC-structures on Si wafers and flexible polymer substrates. The latter structures are promising for development of various wearable sensors and other flexible electronics components.
